I use Dreamweaver because it’s the industry standard. It’s the most capable website editor out there, period. It was recently bought by adobe, and so I would expect to see photoshop, golive, flash, and dreamweaver all to be closer and closer knit, like how ms-office is now.

You’re better off learning to be fluent in each of the languages you’d like to use and programming on a simple text editor, such as notepad.

Web design programs quickly become crutches.

I use Notepad and HTML. Dreamweaver is cool for creating buttons and stuff but I mostly use Notepad.

I use NVU. It’s free versus $199 for frontpage or $499 for Dreamweaver.

They don’t have the best instructions, but with a little effort, I’ve been able to figure out everything so far.
