Does anyone know a good web-design program other than Dreamweaver that I can use for developing a website?

Rogue_Agent asked the question:

Dreamweaver is good but I’m looking for something free and more easier to use or something that can help me deliver a website in a more straightforward fashion.

Nah, no jokes. I tried a few WYSIWYG editors once and found them more difficult than just getting down and dirty with XHTML, CSS and the like (PHP also is a help).

You’ll probably think I’m being really unhelpful and arrogant but that’s the honest truth. I’ve never come across a “good” WYSIWYG editor - by good I mean one which does what you want it to do and outputs sensible, clean and compliant code whilst doing so. The closest I think I’ve ever found is Microsoft Expression Web, but that certainly wouldn’t be a recommendation.

Have a Google for a few tutorials and you’ll realise its not too difficult to DIY.
